RJA #5C Reference Artical

A constitution is a set of rules that are the ultimate source of legal authority for the state. The rules of the constitution identify the major institutions of the state, and govern the relationship between the state and the individual citizen.

The process for amending constitutions is generally quite difficult, often requiring majority votes from all parliamentary houses. The public may also have a say in constitutional amendments if the issue is put to them in a referendum. Specific percentages in order for the amendment to succeed depend on the nation in question.

RJA #3c: Research Question

Does the Patriot Act take away basic human rights?
What effects does it have on foreigners?
What problems does the patriot act take away?
What problems does it create?
Who had a say in the passing of the act?
How long did it take to pass?
What evidence makes it unconstitutional?

RJA #3b: Research Topic Focus

In my research i found several strong arguments.

What is considered unconstitutional?
If it is made to protect?
Was it right to pass the act?

Against basic rights?
Negative impact?
Punishment of foreigners?
The peoples say?

RJA #3a: Research Topic Exploration

I have found that there are arguments to both sides of my topic in some brief research. I have also noted that a judge has ruled two parts of the patriot act unconstitutional. It will be interesting to see what happens after conducting my research more in depth. My topic seems to be very controversial which should help me gain some juicy detail.

RJA #2b Possible Research topics

For my research topic I chose to research the Patriot Act. I chose to question whether or not the Patriot Act is considered unconstitutional or not. There are many arguments to both sides, and I wanted to consider the problem in depth and to research a goal. It will be interesting to look into the facts, and to get different views on the subject.

Currently I do not know much about my subject. I have not read the patriot act in full so I do not know in complete detail how, and where it is unconstitutional. On another note, I also do not know the constitution in depth, and will have to see where the two correlate, and where they cross paths. I have heard the debate many times, and I wanted to get a full look into what is wrong with the Patriot Act. I do know that the Patriot Act was passed to prevent terrorist attacks, and to keep people safe. But on that note it is why is was passed so fast, that creates the problem in which it was not read in depth, or read by very many people. I also know that the people could not prevent the act from being passed because it was all congress and not the people.

I don't know a lot about the Patriot Act so i would like to learn about it. I also don't know the constitution or the amendments in full so I will enjoy learning about those. I really don't know a lot off facts involving either of the two subjects, so i want to get to the bottom of the argument.
